The medicine went down easier this morning. Not easy. Just easieR. He has an antispasmotic injection, an oral antibiotic and a painkiller pill. I only have 2 more pills to give him so I look forward to finishing up that medication. I'm really quick with an injection so I try to get everything injectible that I can. It's easier to give a cat a little stick than it is to force his mouth open and shove something down his throat with his tongue fighting you all the way.
Usually when someone asks me if Puffy's got attitude, I tell them no, he's the sweetest kitty in the world and he can't help the way his face is shaped. But he really is as dismayed as he looks here.
(You can also see we've given up the idea of having our bedding match itself.)
ETA: he was disemboweling that collar so I've decided to take it off for now. He's happily licking his paws, which is fine. IT's the nether-regions he's not supposed to lick.

I kind of thought it might be easier to leave it on around the clock but it seems to itch him.
At least its a soft one, the hard plastic ones are worse.
Puffy looks like the cat I rescued from the community residence I worked at.
Good luck and love to Frankie.
Believe me, a lot of hand-wringing accompanies giving meds.
(I remember when Ariel had her last op - we ended up taking the collar off whenever we were around to watch her closely, because she hated it *so* much, and we figured the stress wouldn't be helping the heeling. She had one of those huge plastic lampshade ones though.)
I suspect Frankie's a bit fat to easily lick himself. Mainly he wanted to wash his paws and face. Now he's contentedly sprawled on the heat register--yay!
