That's what my boyfriend says whenever I do something high-tech. In this case: adding a second monitor to my art setup. I've since changed my mind and shifted the small monitor to the right, because I'm right handed and I want the small monitor to hold my menus and extras, so it makes more sense to my brain there.
I suspect I'm due for a computer upgrade soon but I want to wait another couple of years if possible, and then wipe the graphics programs off and repurpose the art computer as a media center, since it's big enough to fill a TV-like function in a smallish room.
It's been running crappy for a while now, and I finally broke down and started it from the DVD drive and repaired the startup disk. Much, much better! (It only took me all morning, gah.)

My co-worker has one of those keyboards and I like it a lot. It feels different from a regular keyboard and yet there really doesn't seem to be a daunting learning curve in using it. I bet you'll like yours! It does feel really sleek and quiet.
Is your user pic you Wii Mii? Very cute. I've made 2 of the boys Andrea and I write about and my son says they play baseball well. My son has made Aragorn and Gandalf and some sort of transvestite. My daughter - whose Wii it is - made herself and Zac Efron. Mr partner made himself and called it Daddy *eyeroll* The kids laugh at him.
Sooner or later I'll get my act together and find out how to connect it all to the net and get your addy and we can all play.
Once you connect and have your address we can send characters (or ourselves) over. Andy always appears in my Wii Fit marching band, and she likes to cheer me on when I'm attempting to jog.
I have Johnny Depp (not a very successful Mii) and Captain Sensible (looks just like him, even without the beret.)
I didn't know he was in The Damned. I just got a cd of their later music. I just remember Captain Sensible for doing 'Happy Talk'.
It worked really well - and I could keep my editing notes on the other screen at all times - but I don't have the space at the moment to fit it all on the end of the dining room table.
Your set up looks v sexy. Enjoy! :)
Is your oldest son moving out anytime soon? If he does, you need to nab his bedroom for your office. Unless he shares with Son #2, in which case that wouldn't be very inspirational for writing.
We are really short on space also. My SO is a musician and equipment takes up so much room. You can't throw it in the shed because it needs to be reasonably climate controlled or it will get ruined. Right now there's a drum set in the bedroom. Really not ideal, but it was the only way I could have an office. Though he's found that he likes to use a computer with iTunes, a remote control and a wireless headset in his practicing, so I guess that's good to know.
I have visions of a big, finished basement rec room in our next house with the instruments all set up, the computer, an old beat-up couch, and maybe a treadmill. (Dream big, right?) Seriously, I really want a basement.
How are you liking your second monitor? I love the idea of having notes up. Makes me want to add a monitor to my office. (Ack..no...no room!)
I had considered renting a space outside the house, but I really hate the thought of having to travel somewhere to write. Even though it would be great for privacy, I think it would mess up my flow.
