It's Alive

Holy cow, I haven't been this sick for this long in ages. My SO and I are both down with whatever crud we've caught, and I've been MIA since Sunday night. We've had to cancel our Christmas plans and just sleep and watch movies.

(The cats think it's wonderful. You can just see it on their little cat faces. Yay! In bed all day!)

It's weird. I haven't not-worked in 4 days for years. Now I'm jonesing to do something. Funny, in between delirious fever dreams and tossing and turning, I thought about editing some of my works in progress. Editing. Who'da thought?

I don't feel quite as awful this morning. Things still hurt, but not in a considering-euthanasia kind of way. Maybe I will work for a bit today.

Merry Christmas
I hope you feel better soon :(

Thanks! I am a lot better today. I've been sternly warned to "take it easy" though. I might dig out my Alphasmart and write in bed for a while.

Best to take it easy and rush things. And yay! for some writing. I'm all for peace and quiet today - and reading The Dark Tide. Yeah, Josh got a poem too, based on that. You show up in it, or rather one of your characters. I needed a rhyme and Russeau worked.

Take it easy and get better :o)

I remember once when I had a dreaded lurgie and I was reading Dragon Lance books when I was awake. The feverish sleep gave me some wonderful dreams after reading them.

Hope you feel heaps better soon and can celebrate Christmas.

♥ xxx

OMG I love DragonLance. (Okay, I love the deliciously wicked Raistlin...that's pretty much it.)

I've been dreaming about the awful taste in my mouth. How pathetic.

Yep, Raistlin. Don't the good girls always go for the bad boys? ;)

One day, I'll read more of them.

I was very ill last year at Christmas and to double the agony I was away from home visiting family. I survived on cold medicine chased with booze. Hope you feel better very soon!

Ugh, I dunno what I'd do if I wasn't in my own bed. Curl up and die, maybe. Now New Year's will be spent sitting w/ the in-laws. Oh well, they'll have fried chicken.

Oh, goodness. How AWFUL for you. I've been sick at Christmas a few times in the last years and it is a total misery. I hope you're better soon. Take it easy.

(People who rest while sick cut their illness time down by at least 25%, btw. How's that for a reason to stay in bed... of course, I write when I'm in bed, but that doesn't count, does it?)

My SO wandering around going, "Worst Christmas EVER" doesn't really help.

Thank you for the well wishes! I do feel exponentially better today than I have since Sunday.

Tell him that "worst Christmas ever" (barring death and natural disaster) belongs to a family whose 5 kids came down with violent, highly contagious stomach flu (Norwalk) about 30 minutes after the final member of the entire extended family arrived. Let me add that the family only had two bathrooms.

I'm so sorry to see that you've not been well. The fact that you rose from your sick bed makes your present (which I really liked) from Wave's site even more special. *hugs*

Elizabeth Knox wrote her wonderful "The Vintner's Luck" when she was suffering from high temperature delerium. One of the most interesting "gay" books I've read. It's funny what our brains come up with.

Being sick's awful, and even more so on a special occasion. Hope you make a quick recovery, even though your little kitties probably hope for some more bed rest.

The kitties have moved on to fighting over who gets to be inside the box my present from my mom came in.

She says her kitty enjoyed the box my present to her came in, too ;-)

Oh, she's so big and pretty! You've gotta love calicoes, their fur is sure to show up on your clothes no matter which color you're wearing that day ;-)

We had a pretty intense box war last night at bedtime. Two of the cats haven't yet worked out their hierarchy.

Feel better!!
Dec. 26th, 2009 12:32 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I'm undoubtedly moving into "overdoing it" territory now.

OMG hope you feel better soon! It's horribly common, being sick over Xmas, but it's no fun.

We had an interesting Christmas. It wasn't much like we expected, being just the two of us. I forced him to do a jigsaw puzzle with me, ha ha. (Can we STOP yet? How long are we gonna do this?)

hope you're well on the way to recovery by now, and having a good, relaxing, Christmas break!

Thank you! I probably need to go back to work tomorrow and I'm not feeling so hot yet. Boo :(
