PsyCop Ideas?

Thinking about doing a PsyCop freebie in December, like Thaw and Mind Reader, maybe 500-1500 words. Any ideas?

Hmm...

Vic and Jacob's first Xmas in their new home
How Crash spends Christmas
Vic and Jacob hosting a Christmas party for their friends
Vic panicking trying to find a last minute gift for Jacob and having to brave the mall (with Crash)
Maybe from Jacob's or Crash's POV
That's all I can think of at the moment

I like the idea of Vic shopping for a present for Jacob with Crash somehow being along for the ride.

Wow, really good stuff here! The last-minute gift is so like him. These feel like bigger stories to me, so I'll save 'em for next year when I can start working on them in October. (LOVE the kitty-tree icon!)

Thank you :o)

Many years ago, I came home and looked at my tree and something wasn't right. I then realized it was the cat perched on top of the tree.

I'd love to read something from Jacob's point of view. Maybe a night before Christmas thing, or Vic being especially adorkable. Really, I'm easy.

The first request I got (on Twitter) was Jacob-POV, and that idea seems to have stuck in my head. I love these, really sweet things. I think Vic does deserve to be adorable for once.

Shopping for Jacob! With either Crash along to help, or running into Maurice. :D

I love Maurice. Just saying.

Yay, Maurice. I should do more with him.

Vic in a common christmas situation, common for most people that's not Vic, that is. I just love the scenes were Vic tries so hard to be 'normal' in social situations.

Or how about one of Jacob's family members comes for a visit and Vic have to entertain him/her alone since Jacob gets called away to work?

I love the scenes where Vic can't handle normal stuff too.

Your second thing is uncannily like a part in PsyCop 6!

I don't think I can contain Crash's fabulousness in 1000 words...but maybe I'll revisit the latest Crash short sometime. I left it dangling on my hard drive.

The lights from the Christmas tree make weird shadows in the cannery and Victor can't relax. Plus, the lot that he and Jacob went to to get the tree was the spot of a really nasty murder and the ghost wasn't going anywhere, but not saying anything useful either. But the worst of it all were those creepy Boy Scouts. And no, it didn't make any difference at all that Jacob had been one.

Eerie Christmas! This plot is deliciously fitting, though I think it would need a novelette length at minimum to do it justice! :D

Wow, a lot of these ideas are great! I'd like to see Vic proactively, thoughtfully do something nice for Jacob. I swear - it still bothers me that in one of the books, Vic had the sheets right there, but didn't for days - make up the bed. He thought about it, as I recall, but just didn't. Yeah, I know he was preoccupied, but sheesh.

It is a tribute to your writing that something so small can worm its way into my mind and kind of define a character, especially as scattered as Vic was at the time.

That's so funny, I think you're right, I should see it as a positive thing that one of Vic's actions (or inactions, as the case may be) is still bugging you!

Give him some points for willingly shoveling. If you've been outside in Chicago in mid-February you'd know how valiant it is for Vic to volunteer to be the official shoveler for the Bayne/Marks household.

But remember that Vic tried to go off Auracel and he did that on his own precisely for Jacob, so that Jacob would have the boyfriend he deserved. That's gotta count for quite a bit.

A Christmas party with all the PsyCop characters in attendance, except Roger Burke, of course.

Or perhaps a Christmas party in front of the prison with ONLY Burke in attendance, hee hee.
