Spreadin' the PsyCop

I've been kicked out of the bedroom where I've been formatting ebooks all day. I think that's probably for the best. There is a saturation point with these tasks and undoubtedly I've hit it. Which is not why I've been kicked out. My guy wanted to play drums in there. He could care less if I format ebooks for 20 hours straight.

We really need a rec room. (I can just see it. An old couch. Drum set. TV and Wii. And how about a treadmill.) Maybe next year we can get a house.

As a result of all my formatting, I now have PsyCop #1-3 up at 1RomanceEbooks -- ta-da! And my HTMLs, Mobis and Lits now have working tables of contents and a teaser of a different book at the end of each book. Very time consuming but worth it, to me. I did get lost in reading Striking Sparks as I was working on it, since I haven't looked at it since it overheated Clare London's Sony. I'm always surprised by it when I revisit that story. Makes me want to see what's going on with Crash. I wish I could just call him or something. How time consuming that I would have to think of and then write whatever's going on with him for it to have happened.

I'm thinking about changing my office around again. The couch-coffee table arrangement I have isn't working for my back, so I'll need to steal a desk from elsewhere in the house and leave a couch in its place. (No one will notice that, right? Not if I strew papers all over the couch.) I'm going to upgrade the writing computer. Maybe I'll take everything apart and do it in one fell swoop when the new computer gets here next week.

Hey--I didn't know you were on LJ!

Hopefully some writing will happen today. I think I forced a bunch out last weekend and my brain put on the brakes and said, "No, I still have to figure out what's going on before you write it."

Well, a number of us would like more Crash stories. :) And then I think there are fans who are just relieved that he's flirting with someone other than Victor. Even in Carolyn's interview with Michael (still love how those worlds collided), Carolyn didn't understand how Michael and Bill could have the occasional threeway and still be totally committed to each other. I've heard the theory that a lot of men just separate physical fidelity and emotional fidelity. I've known several guys who are like Crash as far as non-monogamy goes. I'm fine with it as long as I'm not dating them.

If you do start changing office and computers around, remember to back everything up! Otherwise, just good wishes for getting everything fixed up like you want it. :)

Oh yeah, backing up the files would have been a dandy idea...nope, I just rolled up my sleeves and moved shit around. It's done now, hooray. I can tell already it'll be a lot better for my back to be sitting up straight when I work rather than working on a coffee table. But I was able to keep the couch for when I do want to work on my lap, or maybe to journal or read. And the cats think the couch is theirs, and it's suddenly fascinating because it's across the tiny room from where it was before.

There was something about how sensitive Crash was in Striking Sparks that really got to me. How he tried to sneak in advice without being too preachy about it.

I loved writing Carolyn and Michael together. I think he's probably a pretty deep thinker/talker when he's talking with one of his girlfriends. Wild Bill doesn't value verbalizing things quite as much and doesn't encourage Michael to be overly thoughtful if he can help it. He'd probably say Michael thinks too much, though I don't think he really believes that. I loved the brownie analogy...it made me want to go write a Bill/Michael/somebody threesome :D. I kinda started one but it fizzled out.

Yes, more Crash is always a good thought. You've created that strong a character, we *all* want to call him up and see how things are going. :)
