Catch Hemovore Today

Hemovore went up for sale approximately two seconds ago. I'm happy it hit the web before I had to go to work. It would make me crazy if I couldn't post a link to the story of my heart before I had to start slogging through the salt mines. (Well, okay, I'm working on a digital history project that I actually proposed. It's kinda fun.)

Buy Hemovore here

Obsidian Bookshelf has a deliciously lengthy, cerebral and spoiler-free review in which Val says,
"[Hemovore] is character-driven fiction with a lot of action, and features a sophisticated level of world-building that we readers aren't often lucky enough to find in most m/f or m/m paranormals."
Have a peek at that review here

*curses yesterday's book-buying*

I will have to wait a week to buy it, I guess. I'd read my poor hubby out of house and home given the opportunity.

I think the story will wait a week for you :D

Tell your hubby you're a patron of the arts, supporting the art form you love. If everyone bought our books (no more digital theft), more m/m authors would be able to quit our dayjobs!

What a wonderful review

I don't know why I'm not more familiar with "Hemovore"! The review's really inspired me to buy it now.

Re: What a wonderful review
That's awesome! I really loved the way Val laid out the review. I haven't started pimping Hemovore heavily until today. I like to have a buy link to go with my pimpage. :D

Re: What a wonderful review
Will it be coming out in print as well?

Re: What a wonderful review
It will be next spring. As I understand it takes longer to move through the distribution channels for print. (I make it sound like a digestive system or something.)

print edition
ooh, excellent! This is one I really want in print!

Re: print edition
... although it isn't anywhere near 600 pages??? (first line of the review...)

Re: print edition
I think it's closer to 250 pages in print. The way the file I sent Val was formatted for Sony reader, I think it was 600 half-sized PDF pages.

Discovered you not too long ago and am a great fan, now. Paranormal isn't normally my genre (though I'd never say I disliked it), but great storytelling is, as well as well-characterized, conflicted characters.

Will be getting this one. 'sophsticated world-building' eh? I'm sold. :)

Friending you to keep in the loop, hope that's okay.
Jul. 28th, 2009 09:34 pm (UTC)
Yay, thanks for friending. I did the layout on a book about ocotillos, isn't that wild? (It was a self-published thing my SO's college friend did for his family so it's not readily available. But the ocotillo is one of those plants you remember.)

Thank you so much for the huge compliment! I recently read that readers might forget the details of your plots, but they'll remember your characters. I totally think that's true! (It's also comforting to think about when your plot veers into la-la land!)

Hi Val, wow, you sure did get lots of comments on your blog! I know you say your readers like short concise reviews, but I guess I'm just a review whore. I friggin' adore getting a humongo Val-review :D

Hi Jordan,
I am just starting my second read of Hemavore. Congratulations on another superbly crafted story, and what a great world you created for your characters. I loved Jonathon and his angst :) It was different to what I expected, but so fascinating and well written. I am glad that you didn't give up on this story and were able to share it. okay, enough squeeing.

Wow, your second read! That's a high compliment, thank you :D

I hope you find some interesting stuff the second time around!
