Discouraging

My wrist is wrapped as I type here (badly) because I've got an overuse injury to my hand, making it impossible to hold a pen and uncomfortable to use a mouse. Typing, not so bad. Other than the wrapped hand. My doctor says I should take it easy. I didn't mention that I was planning on writing 10,000 words this weekend. He doesn't need to know about that.

The mysterious shoulder pain was diagnosed as bursitis due to a childhood collarbone injury. I guess there's a steroid shot in my future for that.

One of my thoughts was, "Better do that before I quit the day job and no longer have insurance."

Oh, and the other discouraging news. A flurry of rejections this week. Sometimes I enjoy rejections. I play this game where I imagine I'm only a certain number of rejections away from some really great thing--a big break, so to speak. I just don't know what the number is. Even so, every rejection is one step closer to that magical number.

Three rejections in quick succession cease being fun for me, though.
