Vampy-licious

Well, hello. Yes, I am still alive. This week I got a novel I've been laboring on for years off to my critique partner, I *think* I've made the final tweaks to the Camp Hell paperback cover, and a new series launches today!

Sweet Oblivion's first story, Brazen, picks up where Channeling Morpheus left off: Michael and Wild Bill trolling the Interstate in a rusty van with an air mattress in back and a glove box full of dubious medical equipment.

If you want to find out more about both the series, check out the Channeling Morpheus Site, where you'll find the first chapter of Payback, and a free short story.

If I've managed to hook you on the series already, then head over to Changeling Press to grab Brazen!

I jumped on it right away (well... not "right away" 'cause I had to gawk for a bit). I'm so excited to see Michael and Bill back in a new series! And it starts out with Bill's POV!! That summary is such a tease. I can't believe Michael is suggesting a three-some. He's so into Bill, though. Must be some ulterior motive involved...

I'm so excited! But I can't resist, I have to ask. What happened with the cover design? I loved the covers for Channeling Morpheus but this one is just so jaw-droppingly bad. I don't know if it's abuse of Photoshop filters or if the picture originally had blurry side-burns and hair, and that over air-brushed skin is giving me the creeps. The colors: Yellow, lime-green, and red. Just wow... I know the summary says fireworks but shouldn't his face be the focus instead of an overly bright sparkly background? Good thing I love this series though. I wouldn't put up with the eye cancer otherwise :(

I hope Mr. Keller has a prettier cover the next time around. I really like his other covers for Changeling and I totally understand that every artist has his bad day.

I hope you enjoy the story! It's very Bill-ish.

I bought the book, before I read your discount offer...doh! My mother has been telling me for forty years to be patient. It was fantastic, I like Bill's voice, and I love that he is still trying to figure Michael out. The threesome was hot, and really funny with Bill's inner dialogue. I can't wait for the next episode. And regarding the cover art, yours is the best of the Changeling books but I did prefer the look of the previous covers (especially Michael and his eyeliner - very Robert Smith, showing my age again).
p.s. will there be more psycop books?

The threesome in this story was difficult to write. I had to figure out where everyone was coming from, and then narrow that down even more to what Bill would know and deduce from the way they were acting. And I got it wrong the first time around and had to backtrack. But I thought the results were well worth it.

Re: the cover -- the only covers I have control over are the ones for JCP Books. Them's the breaks.

*Sigh* Robert Smith, yes! I'm from the same era. As is Wild Bill ;-)

There will be more PsyCop, but probably not this year. I'm all booked up with other commitments until mid-year at least, so I can't even look at starting to write another PsyCop until then. Unless I have another novelette like Striking Sparks that comes knocking on my brain, in which case, I might squeeze that in. Or maybe a freebie like Thaw.

Thanks so much for the kind comments on Brazen!

To have a new update to one of my automatic-buy-author's series is LOVE. I'll tell you what I think after I read Brazen.
