Tainted review at Obsidian Bookshelf

Obsidian Bookshelf has posted another lush and gorgeous review for the Channeling Morpheus series!

It reads: "I should point out my two favorite things that are becoming apparent over the entire Channeling Morpheus series because they're both present in this particular installment. First, there is the uniquely American sense of place. Bill and Michael exist in a world of truck-stops and strip-malls and vast physical terrain crossed in all-night drives with the radio on to keep you awake. To have this strong a setting, especially in the short novel form, is exceedingly rare.

"Second, I'm fascinated by the striking contrast between Bill's harsh and unsentimental way of expressing himself, and his deeply romantic heart."

Val Kovalin's reviews always make me swoony! Read the rest here

Hi Jordan,
Not sure whether to post this here, but I just wanted you to know I've been listening to your podcasts Packing Heat for a while now. I really like your tips and enjoy the podcasts very much. I have been trying my hand at a few fanfics and know how hard it is to write well, especially when your not a native speaker, like I am. I hope you will continue for a long time yet. I will certainly be listening (and trying to write as well).

Thank you!
Hi! Thanks so much for letting me know that you're digging the podcasts. They're a labor of love for me. I enjoy other people's podcasts, like I Should be Writing, Writing Excuses and The Writing Show, so it seemed like I should give something back by putting content out there myself.

Fanfic is an awesome way to get your creativity going. I hope you find an online community to share it with that encourages you to create and to grow. And more power to you for writing in a language that isn't your first language! I can't think of a better way to learn the subtle nuances of all the meanings. (Of course, you'll need a good beta-reader who's willing to explain why you'd say something one way and not the other. But it still seems like an experience that'd stick with you!)

All the best!

Re: Thank you!
Thanks for your reply. I'm also listening to the other podcasts you mentioned, because I think every tip helps. I'm very fortunate in having found a few great people who also write and we do a lot of brainstorming, both online and via email and we read each other's stuff. The most important reason we do our writing is that it's great fun, so we hope to do a lot more.
Lots of success with your podcasts and your writing.

Best wishes,
