Feed yo' face! With bananas.

I'm on a banana kick lately. I was visiting Dev Bentham and had one in the car with me, and it was all overripe and kind of gross, and she suggested I freeze it and eat it that way. So I did. And it was interesting! Actually, she told me it was like eating ice cream, and while I wouldn't go that far, I'd allow that it does taste like some weird natural ice cream substitute bar from the health food store. And it's cheap!

Peel them, stick them on a plate and freeze them. Once they're frozen I put them in a baggie. Less messy to eat sliced up. But sometimes I just gnaw on the whole frozen thing like a caveman...with a freezer...and access to bananas.

I took on a new responsibility teaching a water aerobics class, and it kind of kicks my ass (not gonna lie.) While I realize the amount of potassium in a banana is kind of overrated*, according to this article, they're better for you post-workout than Gatorade.

*legumes, baked potatoes and leafy greens are better sources

Funny you should mention bananas. When I was little, I loved them so much that I once hid under the kitchen table and ate a whole bunch while my mother was busy putting away the rest of the groceries. Then, as the years went by, my taste for them went away. They seemed too waxy, not as much flavor.

Recently, I discovered organic bananas!

These are the same things I loved as a kid. The consistency is perfect, no more waxy, tasteless things... and my love affair has been rekindled.

Must try these frozen. Now, I'm intrigued. Thanks for the tip! :)

Ah, and thank YOU for the tip of trying some organic. I wish there were different varieties of banana available, as with apples and other fruits. Other than mini bananas and plantains, I can't think of any. (Is there a red banana? I seem to remember seeing a red banana at some point.)

And also I was so sure your story was going to end with you being violently ill and never touching bananas again. Glad it didn't!!

You would think that an eight year old consuming five to six bananas in one sitting (and eating them fast before mom could find out), would make for a not so happy ending but other than having a very full stomach, nothing negative came out of that :)

We've been trying to go as organic, free-range, grass-fed, non-antibiotic as possible these past few years. The difference in flavor is quite dramatic, in my opinion anyway :)

Mmmm. ^__^ I love bananas with crunchy peanut butter or Pepper Jack cheese. They're especially yummy with Lay's potato chips. Though I was told that's not normal... -__-
