So it's the day before Thanksgiving...

...and I opt to return the electric kettle I bought a few weeks ago which stopped working two days ago. YES, the kettle I recommended in my newsletter! I bought it at Target. Not the best time of the year to brave Target, but my thought is, less nightmarish now than it will be after Thanksgiving when the American people-trampling shopping frenzy begins in earnest. So I go.

Bonus points for Target. I had a receipt AND a box, and the only question they had for me was whether I wanted an exchange or a refund. I opted for a refund since I no longer trusted that brand, having crapped out on me in six weeks. The man next to me was having a fit trying to insist that his receipt was correct even tough it did not match his product, so I seemed very with-it in comparison, with my correct receipt.

I found a different kettle for ten dollars less. Then I found Puffy's food on sale.

Good job, Target, for taking my return. The cashier also pointed out that I could get 5% off and free shipping online with my Redcard. Oh really? Amazon may have some competition for my mundane needs, in that case.

It is a good feeling when taking something back works, isn't it? Congrats on finding a new kettle for less and getting mysterious food on sale.

The most horrifying thing for me is that it took you two days to take the kettle back. That produces gibbering panic in a Brit heart - two days without a kettle? The world will end. (I do have an old fashioned on-the-hob kettle for power cuts and emergencies, but it makes me very twitchy to be without my electric kettle.)

Here's the little alien named Puffy.

If I didn't have a shoulder injury I would have taken the drive sooner. One day without a kettle was a travesty. Microwaved water was just not the same.

Le Target is my favorite store on earth, even more than Nordstrom. Le Target has design in its spine. That kitty looks like the apotheosis of cathood, perfect in every way. happy thanksgiving!

Target scored points with me when I learned that instead of throwing away their old marketing materials, they saved them for their local library (by the library's request) so the library could use them for decorating. Big cut-out displays of children playing used to sell clothes, for instance, looked awesome in the children's room at the library.

The Puff Man is my sweet boy.

Le target's adv, mkt, and display are extraordinary. User friendly and sophisticated is hard to do. They slapped broadcast retail adv. upside the head so had, people are still imitating them.

Reusing their displays makes me LOVE THEM MORE, cause I love libraries more than Le target, even.

"Cat pukes" plural = Lol!
