New goodies from JCP!

In the Dark
A Brand New PsyCop short!

Halloween is fun...at least, it's supposed to be. Costumes, candy, trick-or-treat, even jaded Victor Bayne can get behind those sorts of antics. Too bad this year's Halloween is a grownup event. Not only must Vic don a suit and endure a disco-obsessed DJ, he has to mingle with friends of Jacob's he would much rather ignore.

Vic thinks he has the party's host all figured out--but as he so often realizes, once he looks beneath the surface, things are seldom what they seem.

(In the Dark is PsyCop 6.1 - it's a companion piece to Stroke of Midnight, the New Year's short)

The Voice
Have you read this JCP Halloween Classic?

Most people find it tragic if they've got no one to kiss on New Year's Eve, but Martin's calendar revolves around Halloween.

Martin and Dave have been best friends since high school, and still Dave doesn't seem to understand that Martin has very particular taste in men...though that doesn't stop Dave from trying. He announces that not only has he scored tickets to the city's hottest haunted house, Night Terrors, but he's also dug up the perfect blind date.

Martin tells himself not to get too excited, because the Night Terrors excursion is bound to be anticlimactic. Little does he know what's lurking in the shadows.

Bought two copies of In the Dark early this morning, one in ePub and one PDF. You've always been great about making sure I get more than one format when I buy your books but at this price... not a big deal. I'm really looking forward to reading it!

Ah well, I'm always happy to multi-format you! So far reaction to the book is really wonderful. I was a little concerned all I'd hear was "but it's not a novel" and so I'm mucho relieved.

But it's not a novel

;)

I need to figure out if my credit card provider will allow me to buy through your site, Amazon is charging $4.59 for it, way too much compared to your site and B & N :/
Last I tried shopping at a new place they froze my card so not taking any chances

My credit cards are really weird about me buying from international providers, most of them won't allow it. Do you have PayPal? I started accepting PayPal when they clarified their position on ebooks a few months ago. Google Checkout is my other service. I don't take the cards directly. Maybe one of the two will work.

I know you are and I really do appreciate you for it! But when I can I do prefer to support my favorite authors. AND! When it's a new PsyCop...whatever... yeah. I'm such a sucker for Vic and Jacob.

It's not always all about size that matters. *grins*

Edited to add: What's going on with your journal? Whenever I try to comment or reply I get kicked to the captcha page to make sure I'm human. I was one last time I checked. It was awhile ago so I could be mistaken... >:P

Loved it!
Vic is probably one of my favorite characters...ever! Thank you for feeding my PsyCop addiction.

Will you add t-shirts at the Cafe Press shop? A "Got Auracel" t-shirt would be so fun to wear.

Re: Loved it!
Sure, I will add a couple of shirts next time I'm making JCP gear. "got Auracel" would actually violate a trademark so I can't use that, but I'll think of something fun.

Maybe a picture of a salt shaker with "Dispersing repeaters since 2009"

Darn trademarks...protecting intellectual property.

Happy Halloween!

I hadn't ever seen the other Victor and Jacob shorts from the Psycop series, so I went to your site to get those (Freebies! What a nice surprise!) and the new one, In The Dark. For some reason, PayPal wouldn't process my checkout--does it get wonky with a combo of free/not free books? Anyway, easily enough remedied--got the 2 freebies from your site and In the Dark from Amazon with 1-click. Bob's your uncle. :-) Eagerly off to read!

I see orders come through with a combo of free/paid all the time, so that's not the thing. Oh well, I'm glad you found a good workaround! And I'm glad you discovered some freebies!

It might be a glitch with PayPal, because my Amazon order hasn't shown up yet in my PayPal acct. (The book was sent to my Kindle, though.)

And apparently Kindle Cloud Reader is down for some reason. As are Amazon's phone lines, basically. Oh, well, I'll read the earlier stories today and save the current one for the doctor's office tomorrow. :-)

I wonder if some important servers are underwater.

One of my other customers had PayPal weirdness with my store as well, after a long history of no problems. I'll just assume there are some flukey things going on and not worry too much, given how much of the country doesn't even have electricity at the moment. Poor things.
