Floor Food

I dreamed I went to the local Lutheran church and they had this ritual I'd never seen before. Everyone brought raw baked goods (buns, biscuits, small breads) on a towel and placed the towel over this hole in the floor where vacuum sucked them down into a wood-fired oven. I gather they'd collect their towel and baked goods downstairs and all share them, or have a bake sale.

Funny, when I washed dishes at the Thanksgiving thing one year I didn't notice a flaming hole in the floor! And Puffy walked around on my face and wok4emmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm02222222..   ahem. Woke me up before I could eat anything.

LOL I don't think that was a wood fired over, I think it was hell. ;-)

I too dreamt about food, my mom and my aunt were making jellied salads (one was green of course with peas in it 0_o) and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I could make hard boiled eggs in aspic and have them standing on end, but completely surrounded by the gel. I woke up thinking of different techniques to hold them upright but not touching the bottom of the container. I'm still not sure how I could manage it. LOL Weird.

Lutherans - Making Hell Useful Since 1521!

Wow, I'm impressed, your dream was bizarre and yet so superbly detailed. Now I'M trying to figure out how I'd make eggs stand up in aspic. My two thoughts: bamboo skewers that I remove later, and doing a square mold that I chill on its side. That wouldn't work for a ring mold.

Are hard boiled eggs in aspic an actual thing or did you just invent it in your dream?

Oh, it's a thing, http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1EcyA9qL7iA/TbQ6XNapXUI/AAAAAAAAAUM/oPXo8TcTIVg/s1600/Picture2A+115.jpg disturbing though that picture is. LOL I was thinking skewers as well when I woke up. It was a weirdly detailed dream. I remember someone saying that peas in green jello was my grandfather's favourite, that's why we were making it, but he's been dead for many years and I know he did NOT like peas in green jello.

Waugh! That's really disturbing!

I always think of green jello molds with celery, which I don't think I mind.

It was very festive and neighborly, everyone with their dough.
