Gratitude #19 - ladies' day out

My friend suggested we have lunch at a place that has pretty Christmas decorations, so we set out for a little town called Paoli. We were having a nice classy lunch, and she leaned in and whispered, "I think this is really more of a ladies' restaurant."

I have no idea why I thought that was so funny, but I laughed until I had to dab my eyes. Yes indeed, there were no men. And I was the only person there besides the waitstaff under 70.

There was something awesome about seeing all the "ladies" out enjoying themselves that struck me as wonderful.

Here's a shot of my favorite tree. The color scheme was muted purple with muted metallics, and whopping oversized plain ornaments. I thought it was gorgeous. (This was also the place, I realized as we were leaving, that had all those fabulous pumpkins I showed off in November's newsletter.)

And the coconut cream pie? OMG.

I do like purple... but it needs to be less muted. :)

It was probably one of those things that works better in RL than in a photo. I suppose that's why photography is so tricky. Our eye sees things the lens doesn't.

I just enjoyed a ladies day out shopping, too. Well, until we hit the exhaustion button at the end of the day, but the majority of it was good. It's always a pleasure to spend time with friends. Particularly during the holidays. I'm glad you had a lovely day!

I stopped buying Christmas presents a couple years ago and I really enjoy not stressing about it. There aren't kids in my life. I imagine if there were I would buy them stuff, but I'd probably make myself a rule that I needed to find them something by November first so I really avoided the store-rush. Or I'd buy them all online. I'm just not a big fan of crowds or of shopping, I guess!!!
