Free PsyCop story

A FREE PsyCop Short is available for download at my LuLu Storefront.

Here's Ye Olde Blurb:
Fascinating things can be learned on a field trip.

Crash has something to prove to one of his internet colleagues. Luckily he knows a level-five medium who can debunk the theory that mummification ties a spirit to the material plane.

Vic is perfectly willing to go to the museum with his lover's ex-boyfriend, but it seems like nothing he says or does will satisfy Crash.

Hope you enjoy it!

THank you so much for sharing. This has been a pretty boring Sunday, I'm looking forward to now having something to read.

Hope the story kept you out of trouble for at least a little while :D

Very fun, Thanks!
Sorry for posting this anonymously, but I'm far too lazy to set up an account to do otherwise. Thanks so much for posting this story. Those of us who are seriously jonesing for a new Vic/Jacob installment can breath easier for a while. Although I'm concerned that you're setting us hopeless romantics up for a fall with Crash's scheming wanderlust. But wherever you take us, I'm along for ride. I admire your writing style and humor so much! Vic is so charmingly awkward; you just want to reach out and hug him. Glad to hear about your progress with #4! Patty

Re: Very fun, Thanks!
I'm jonesing for the next Vic/Jacob myself! Hopefully I'll go into hardcore edits soon. I had a scary moment tonight where I thought I lost 2000 words on this Crash story I'm working on, but luckily I found a "soft reset" button on my device and quickly transferred everything to my computer!

I know what you mean about Vic. I think his cluelessness saved "Mind Reader" from being too threatening to the Vic/Jacob relationship. I do feel a little bit bad for jerking Crash around like that, but he's strong & sexy, and he can take it!

Thanks so much for posting, Patty!

Oh, wow. I follow the link from psycop.com, and what do I find? Free stories! Today's looking better already. ♥

I just discovered Psycop last week - I stole the first two books from my roommate's desk with the intention of flipping through it while she was in class, and ended up holding it hostage for a few hours until I finished, and I immediately bought the third e-book afterwards. It feels like I don't have enough stories that can suck me in like that, and it's a wonderful feeling.

Needless to say, I enjoyed the hell out of them. You really nail that first person; Vic comes across so strongly, and dammit, he's adorable. All of the characters are, really! (It was a perfect break from my assigned reading. What is it about assigned reading and detestable characters?) As someone who loves writing, too, I only hope that my stories can be this fun.

Anyway, that's enough out of me. I'm keeping my eye out for the fourth installment!

Aw, thanks so much for looking me up to tell me you read PsyCop! I think it's the coolest thing ever to hear that someone got a few hours of escapism from the stories. I always worry that maybe Vic could come off too damaged or too weird, and it's heartening to know he strikes a good balance for you. (It's so funny to be writing along and think, "He'd stick that hot dog in his pocket," or whatever, and that seems perfectly reasonable in context of who's performing the action.)

It's such a compliment to hear the stories sucked you in. I just love it when fiction does that for me, too. Also when I forget myself and think the characters are real people I know.

I'm hoping to get book 4 out soon. I'll see when the editor gets back to me!

Thanks so much for the comments! They made my day :D

Oh no, I should definitely be thanking you. Your book made me forget my lame-ass week and finally made my roommate take a break from studying, all in the course of one weekend. As far as I'm concerned, that's miraculous. :D

Definitely don't worry about Vic, though, I thought the balance was great. He's surprisingly well-adjusted, all things considered! He never comes off as angsty, despite the massive amount of crap he has to deal with, which is part of why I got so attached to him. And his suffering is so entertaining, anyway. (I really do love him, I swear. *laughs*)

Also, hot man on man action. Did I mention the hot man on man action? Do I even have to? ♥
