More Praise for the Mansion

A quick reminder that voting for this leg of the Magic Mansion competition closes Wednesday morning at 7am CST. The optional comments in the vote are always a highlight of my day. Since the last time I pimped the serial, these gems came in.

From Dev Bentham: "Last night as I was drifting off I realized it was the 15th and I could wake up this morning to Magic Mansion. I've been looking forward to this since the last installment."

And more wonderful praise from Pamela: "Been loving it Jordan. I find the reflections back into time by John to be particularly poignant. Lust is simmering. It's going to explode when they do get some alone time."

If ten more readers vote, we'll be at the highest turnout yet. So don't hold back. Read! And VOTE! :D

You already know how much I LOVE this story. I look forward to each new installment and worry that it'll end. I love magic and to find a story that captures it so well is a rarity.

I am really loving the series. I don't know if I've told you that. So, I am telling you now. I love that we get to be interactive in your creative process. Thanks so much for keeping me entertained. And Happy Thanksgiving!

Trying to catch up so that I can vote... :)

Hmm. Not that you necessarily care, since it is a character using the phrase, not the author, but the expression is 'you've got another *think* coming', although yes, the mispronunciation is getting more and more common, especially since Rob Halpert belted it out... :D

And because I'm a nerd, this is a cool page:

A graph comparing the usage of the two phrases (using 'think' and using 'thing') in Google Books shows a rise in the use of the wrong ('thing') phrase around 1960.

Not really a correction, just a comment. I notice that because I learned it 'correctly' as a kid (usually through parental admonishment) and my brain always does a weird little double take when I see it as 'thing' since the sentence doesn't make logical sense to me that way.

Blahblahblah. Not a pedant, really, sorry if boring. :)

It's always interesting to see how usage changes and evolves. Thanks for the info!
