More sticker shock...

I'm sure I had a "sticker shock" post somewhere in the past.

Anyway, I was at the eye surgeon's today and I said my eye allergies were quite bad at the moment, and he gave me a bottle of Pataday to try and a prescription to go fill if I thought it worked well, and he said it stopped the eye from producing the enzymes that made them itchy. So when I got home I looked it up online and the stuff is as much as $120 per bottle.

*faints dead*

I guess I'll use this little trial sample to get over the "gonna gouge my eye out" hump of this hideous allergy season and go back to over-the-counter stuff that doesn't particularly work once it's done. Or I could order generic from a foreign country for about $20. I dunno.

My eyes REALLY itch. Nearly year-round.

???????? I pay about 2 dollars for that stuff. I guess it helps to live in a country where everyone have to pay taxes.....

Does it work well? I'll get it from a foreign pharmacy if it does.

It's sick how high my taxes are because I'm self-employed, plus I pay for health insurance, AND it doesn't cover anything.

I pay about 34%. But I need no insurance. Any medicine I need for chronic ailments I get on a "blue" prescription from my doctor. If I need to go to the hospital it's for free. Guess it pays off to live in a "red" country....( have to be careful; big brother sees me. BOO!)
Have to look up the name as I seem to have mislaid my bottle. Off to work now, more later. Promise.

Ok, so it's called Spersallerg. Works like magic. In addition I use eyedrops against dry eyes, seeing as I sit in front of the PC all the time.....

Thank you for checking that out! It looks like the ingredients are different. Spersallerg is Antazoline HCl and tetryzoline HCl and Pataday olopatadine hydrocholride.

My dad uses one of those online Canadian Pharmacies and he loves it. He saves heaps and so far the meds aren't dodgy.

I've used them for stuff that's over-the-counter in Canada but not here and they've been fine, so I'd definitely try them for this.

Don't forget to buy a vault to lock the stuff in! Dayum.
