But I just want a list!

Okay, here's where I'll sound unabashedly like a ranty old person.

Get off my lawn!

No, not that. I'm annoyed with the trend to present information online as a slideshow. If I am searching for the ten cutest kittens or the twelve ways to prevent chapped lips or twenty one favorite pork loin recipes, I don't want to click through a freaking slide show! With ads every three slides! I JUST WANT MY INFO.

Yesterday one of the offending sites did offer a "show all" option, which was a relief. But usually they don't.

Rant over. Now get off my lawn.

I couldn't agree with you more. Not only does it try my patience, with my chronic muscoloskeletal issues, which repetitive clicking exacerbates, it's also an accessibility issue.

Hell, that's way more than an annoyance then. :(

Not that whomever runs the sites seems to think about that possibility.

Hear! Hear! Recently, it's gotten way worse. I wish they'd knock it off and just let us see everything all at once without having to click the ever loving hell out of the page. >:)

OH man, I agree with this SO MUCH. That and the ones that link to a surprise video. I don't want to watch a video, I wanted to read an article. *sigh*. So annoying.

I refuse. The minute it loads one of those pages, I close the tab. It takes a ridiculous amount of time for the hundreds of ads to open on each new page, even on a fast computer, and I don't have that kind of time. NO THANKS.

Preach it. And with the tracking blockers I run, 90% of those things don't load anyway.

I also despise news stories that are only presented as videos. I can read really fast and I can't stand to listen to talking idiots read aloud poorly.

And oh yes, doesn't it just make you want to run in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION! *g*

I'm with you. Usually I just move on without looking at the stupid slides. Btw, I've started searching for cooking recipes on Pinterest lately. It's been working out better than Google.

That's a great idea - I just tried it. Success!
