Fun with banking

So...if you let your new debit card sit around too long without activating it, when you finally do call the 800-number on the sticker, it won't work anymore and you'll need to call the bank and talk to a telebranch agent. Know how I know? I've done it.

TWICE NOW.

I guess that makes it a JCP tradition *headdesk*

Hey, I'm focused on making books, what can I say?

Isn't technology wonderful?

I guess it's better than the thing being activatable forever, lost in some mail-thief's van. But still.

How much do you know about iPods? Enough to give me some clues about trying to fix my daughter's one?

I suspect any random person you google would give you better iPod fixing advice than I would!!! (Sad but true).

LOL, no probs. I asked because you are quite technological and have/use/like Apple products, whereas I don't. Daughter (11) has enlisted the help of her older brother (15) and they've decided to try and reset the thing. I suspect that the only person who knows how to fix Apple products is dead...

It used to be tough to get Apple stuff fixed around 1999 (basically there was one guy in all of Chicago and he kept my iMac for 6 weeks) but lately it seems that technicians know how to work on them.

Same here
I just had to reset my pin. I'm sure it will die again soon.

Re: Same here
I hate changing my password every three months, too. I get that it's necessary...but I still hate it.

*Blinks* really? Good thing I don't use debit cards, my creditcard pin has been the same for 3 cards now (current card runs out November this year)

Although, I suspect the rules in general are different here

Re: Same here
Oh, I meant my bank login for online banking. My pin stays the same. Thank God, I'd never successfully shop anywhere if that damn thing was always changing.

Re: Same here
Oh, heh, don't get me started on THAT, we got a new system recently, new code EVERY TIME, not for logging in, but anything once logged in requires a code from a card we've been sent, kind of a mix'n'match
I HATE IT
If I forget my card at home, no netbanking

Re: Same here
I think it's funny when the secure sites show you a photo key that you're supposed to remember, like "Mango!" or "Flat Tire!" They're just so weird.
