spreadsheet fiction?

I was working on scoring the penultimate challenge on Magic Mansion on paper. I needed to distribute three hundred points among four magicians in three categories. And soon I realized what I needed was a SPREADSHEET to keep track of who scored points for what.

How geeky!

(Plus I was trying to come up with a clever title by combining "spreadsheet" and "fiction," and I came up with "spreadfic," which just sounded too damn dirty...)

I've learned over the years that Excel can solve almost any problem. :D

Anything that combines spread or sheet pretty much puts it into the dirty innuendo area. :-)

Never thought about how you keep that stuff straight. One of those ignorance is bliss moments for readers.

Last month's scores, where the contestants had minutes and seconds and they could add or subtract them from other scores, was brutal. My whole focus was on making it read as if it was a breeze. But I'm thinking about posting my notebook on that. It was like the world's most complicated logic puzzle.

I thought it was really neat how you put the twist on the scoring last month. Definitely a brain strain!

I found a website that would add/subtract minutes and seconds that turned out to be really helpful. But I figured if I couldn't do the math in my head, none of the contestants but Bev could, either.

I really enjoy the way every time the poor magicians hear the next gawd-awful challenge, there's always one more thing... :D

Ha ha, isn't that always the case? "Here's the twist!"
