I'm still sick of laying out paperbacks from Sweet O. I'm getting more efficient at it, though.

Hey, there was a gopher in that box you gave me! I can put him under my shed with my groundhog.

Excellent, now the groundhog won't be lonely :o)
Ali gave me one too, I think he's cute. Since I have a Feb birthday I got a surprise box from Frank the LJ goat - that had a kitten. I asked for a penguin...

Talk about timing! I love it when that happens.

One reader told me she was planning to take a vacation day to read the novel, I forget who that was! (Talk about gratifying, holy hell.)

It's a little scary to think of something that took me two years to write being gulped down in a day. Maybe fast readers will read it twice :D

I'm so glad you enjoyed the first chapter!

I have major committees for the 24th, 25th, and 26th. I am tearing my hair out over this. I want the world to go away and leave me alone with my Psycops!

I will probably devour it as quickly as possible, then read it again very slowly, then go back and read the entire series from Among the Living to the end of GhosTV. And then maybe read GhosTV again just on its own.

And then I will read it again when I get it in paperback!

So do you have a sense of Vic's backstory enough to know why he stayed in foster care instead of being adopted? When did he end up in foster care--how old was he when he lost his family? Did he lose his family?

Also, if you do not wish to answer these questions because they are part of a future storyline, then I totally understand. I'm just in a bit of a Victor frenzy right now and thinking about things, things you said in the excerpt from the first chapter of GhosTV.

Oh no, that's such a drag. I'm imagining you secretly reading the book on a mobile phone in your lap while the committees go blah-blah-blah. I was on a village planning committee once and I said, "Never again!" Can't believe I got talked into it to begin with.

I do have a pretty good idea of Vic's backstory, though I probably think more about his teenage years than his young childhood, since his powers hit at puberty. I'll need to save that proprietary info for the final stories, though ;-)

Every time a new book is published in this series, I feel the need to re-read all the previous books. So, I read Among the Living two days ago for the fourth time and am re-reading Camp Hell today.

The time you've spent on these books makes them worth while re-reads!

I, too, can hardly wait for the ♥24th♥!

OMG that is so lovely for you to say, thank you. Among the Living was written so long ago. Sometimes I think of rewriting it because I can, because there are parts I would change all these years later.

Loved the part about your big red notebook. Notebooks are love. I could browse the stationery shop for hours.

I'm so glad you let me know! I thought it might be a bit dull for a "feature" article ;-)

Not to me. ;-) How about an article on your favourite pens for next time. I love pens even more than notebooks. :D

Isn't that funny? I dislike more pens than I like. I hate it when they soak through the paper.

Nothing wrong with being choosy. I hate that too. But I like gel pens, so it's hard to find the right pen and notebook combination.

I think what I want is a regular ballpoint that writes like a gel. And is kind of wide, 'cos I don't like spidery lines I can't see. And I don't want to spend more than a few bucks because any more than that and I'm guaranteed to lose it in a week.

Once I hurt my thumb and couldn't hold a regular pen, and I had to get a wishbone-shaped ergonomic pen. Never got used to writing with it.

My bank's giveaway pens are pretty good!

I have a Bic Pro+ I'm happy with now.

Oh, I'm so excited! Thanks for the head's up - I'll be moving Camp Hell to the top of the list to re-read, quick!

But...but...Lisa? Nooooooo. Not Lisa! I loves her! You've really piqued my interest and can't wait to get my grubby little hands on GhosTV.

And yes! To the notebook - love that story - I have several that I used in high school to re-write the mostly maudlin poems I used to love. Who was that girl?

I must have re-discovered the notebook in 2008. It seemed like I had one when I was really into sewing. And I had one when I was really into recipes. But probably I've been doing more stuff digitally for the past 12 years or so. I do think handwriting connects with a different part of the brain than typing. Cycling back and forth really helps my ideas flow better.

I can't wait to publish GhosTV!

I'll be checking Book Depository every few hours! (Sorry would prefer free shipping if it's all the same to you)

Off to read the Starving Years now, and then GhosTV excerpt. Will mark the 24th on my calendar! It's a Thursday for you, which means Friday for me, so I can stay up all night reading as long as I have no plans for the weekend :) Can't wait!

I prefer free shipping myself! I make the same royalty from Amazon or Book Depository. I even get a little bonus if you go through one of my book depository links from either my newsletters or my websites!
